Description
This fantastic trekking crosses the spectacular Jotunheimen National Park. Located to the east of Norway, in the counties of Oppland and Sognog Fjordane, it was established as a national park in 1.980.
Jøtunheimen was the name given to this mountainous area by the Norwegian author Aasmund Olavsson Vinje in 1862, under the inspiration of the wild landscape and Norse mythology. The ‘Jotuns’ are goblins that have their abode here.
The JØtunheimen National Park offers some of the most spectacular trails on the European continent. For 6 full days, we will enjoy walking between the highest mountains of Norway and all Scandinavia.
We will walk surrounding lakes, raffle rivers and walk between glaciers and great walls. We will sleep in the cozy Norwegian mountain huts, where we will savour their food and, if you like, their beer.
And, as a reward, we will ascend the Galdhopiggen and the Glittertinden, the two highest peaks of the Scandinavian Alps and cross the famous Bessengen Ridge.
